Second Day! First day on site!

Wow, where to begin!? Today we began working on the Maria's home! We started our day with delivering the sisters a gift basket that we made up from goods at a local market. The Maria's were so grateful and wished many blessings on the team. We were also able to give them some toothbrushes that were donated to sell in their tienda. They said that not many people used them, but that they would still put them out to try and sell. At the end of the day, we also were able to be patrons at the Maria's tienda!

As far as working on their new home, we hit a few speed bumps, like running out of supplies or angles of the house not exactly matching up, but with the grace of God, we were able to persevere and make do and continue to accomplish God's goal of blessing the sisters. God also placed some very talented servants in our mission to help accomplish this. Jon (Servants missionary) and his friend, Chemma, were huge blessings! Chemma we found out is in his 70's but you would NEVER guess it by the way he works. He gives the energizer bunny a run for his money! Even with the language barrier, Chemma was able to show us how to accomplish the tasks at hand that really none of us were familiar with, such as mixing cement and patching tin roofs. It was hard work for sure, but rewarding work!

We had to cut our day a little short so the men could attend a Celebrate Recovery program that Dylan is helping to lead. Of course Chemma was still hard at work when we left. (If only that stamina could wear off on me!)

Tomorrow we will be back at it again! Hopefully we will be able to hit the ground running since we now have some skills under our belt. God Bless you all for reading this and keeping us all in your prayers!

Buenas Noches! (Good Night!)

Sorry pics will be coming! We've been having some technical difficulties ;) I will try to do a picture post tomorrow!
