SATURDAY - JAN 6

SARF Family Activity Day!

What a great day of fellowship with the families.  Olga showed the Women how to make a chicken, bean and veggie soup with an inexpensive, pre-packaged dry ingredients.  Olga added a few of her own special touches to make the soup taste very good.  The Moms were then sent home with a package or two of the dry ingredients.

Chris, Deb, and Laura with help from Emily and Doreen showed the Women how to knit hats and were sent home with looms and yarn.

Meanwhile, Dylan along with Larry, Matthew, Charles, Jeff and Bobby took the kids to a local park to play.

Around Noon, we all gathered at the Ministry Center to enjoy the delicious soup and had s'mores for dessert.

It was truly special and awesome to see all the families and the team spending time together after lunch as if they were one big "family".  God is so good.

We are being well fed -- what a blessing!

JANUARY 2018

TRAVEL DAY

We arrived safely into Guatemala Thursday evening.  Some highlights of the trip down -- They had to de-ice the plane in Baltimore before take-off, a few moments of a roller coaster type ride shortly after lift-off.  We're excited to see what God has in store for us!

Oh, yes we are getting all of that in there!

Monday and Tuesday

For the past couple days the team has been busy helping with construction at the house of one of our families.  We have been blessed with the skills of a man from the local church who knows how to do thing the "Typico Guatemalan" way.  Which basically means it is efficient and cost effective and appropriate for the materials available.

Saturday was a great day of fun activities as we hosted many of our families for a fiesta at our new ministry center in Guatemala!

Friday, July 15, 2016

Our first full day in Guatemala was spent serving one of the Servants families.  We mixed concrete by hand and used it to cover a bedroom floor and another part of the home.
