Our Adventures Pt. 3

Wednesday
We spent the whole day finishing up the beds we were making and they turned out amazing! We also had the chance to take Apolonia to go and pick out her own shoes and she got super comfy dress shoes! We ended the night with a debrief and a nice campfire while the missionaries came over to say goodbye and have some cake for Dylan and Sharon's birthday!

Thursday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DYLAN AND SHARON! Today we got to take our trip to Antigua, with a wonderful breakfast and a day full of shopping and fun. OH! and we got to see how chocolate is made and we got to make our own chocolate and it was so delicious! Although the day was fun, we are all very tired and ready to make our trip home tomorrow! Praying for safe travels!

Our Adventures Pt. 2

Monday
We spent the morning continuing our work on the beds at the mission center. We made a lot of progress and the beds are looking great! After a delicious lunch, we made our way up to Apolonia's house to install a bed for her and visit her 3 girls, Anna, Silvia, and Jennifer. We brought them gifts and a lot of candy! We also got to paint nails and make bracelets with them! Apolonia loves her new bed as well. After we left and got some dinner we headed over to the childrens home to hang out with the kids and catch up with old friends.

Tuesday
We woke up at 4:30 am to make our way to Pacaya, which is a volcano about half an hour away from Villa Nueva. We hiked up the volcano, some of us took horses about half way up. Close to the top we got a chance to roast some marshmallows and make some S'mores. Although it was cloudy, it was still very beautiful.

Our Adventures

Thursday morning at 1 am.
We began our long journey to Guatemala at the Dulles airport leaving at 1 am. We flew to Mexico City after a 4 hour flight. After going through customs we finally boarded our flight to Guatemala city, catching a few cat naps a long the way....

We then finally made it to Guatemala and were greeted by Dylan and Missy! After a scary ride through the streets of Guatemala, we arrived at the beautiful new mission center. We quickly got settled in so we could all rest after a long day. After a long and well needed nap, Olga prepared an AMAZING meal for us and our bellies were so full.

Friday
Friday started a long day of wood cutting. We are building beds for the mission center and also building a bed for Apolonia, a mother of one of the SARF families.

Saturday
Today was the day that each and every one of us were looking forward to. We took almost all the SARF families to the water park for a day of fun and fellowship. We had a few highlights of the day to share with you like: Riding on a school bus (Which for some of us, it's been quite awhile!) Watching Dylan and Mike go down the water slide together, taught the kids how to play Marco Polo, eating lunch with all the families, getting to know the kids more, watching the kids interact with the other SARF kids, and watching them climb up the water slide! Overall, Saturday was an amazing and fun day that we will all remember forever.
Anna enjoying the water on a beautiful sunny day!
The kids really enjoyed the water slide!

Sunday
Today we attended Dylan and Missy's church up in Linda Vista where we were able to fellowship, pray and worship with people in the Community. Some of us had the opportunity to go over and help with the kids during Sunday school. Then for lunch we went to Pollo Campero and had some amazing chicken!
We had the opportunity after lunch to visit Maria at her tienda (which for some of you who don't know, is a small store) We bought a lot of Coke, snacks, and fireworks! We got to sit and talk with Maria for awhile about the struggles she's been facing and get to know her better. We prayed for some healing and really felt the spirit moving with Maria and the group.

Till next time my Amigas :)
