July Mission Trip - July 24, 2014

Overflowing with joy as we reflect on our wonderful time here in Guatemala. Today we shared our progress with Maria and she was absolutely delighted and beyond thankful for all of the work Servants has done. After lunch we went to Linda Vista and served SARF families by taking their family photos, giving the kids new sandals as well as some candy and toys. Tomorrow we head to Antigua for one last day of fun here in Guatemala. Please continue to cover us in prayer.                  ¡Gracias!

July Mission Trip - July 23, 2014

By The Lord's grace, today was filled with so many accomplishments and wonderful memories. To start, Maria's house is ready to be "move in ready" (before and after pics below). While the men finished up some things at Maria's house the ladies went to the market and bought items for the basket we will give to Maria tomorrow. We also learned how to make tortillas, Olga is a great teacher. After lunch we ran back to the market and bought over 40 pairs of sandals, toys, and candy for kids from SARF and La Primavera. After our market purchase we went to a soccer pitch and played soccer with 20+ kids from La Primavera. This was such a treat for them as well as for us. Happy to report the Gringos beat the La Primavera team. ;) Before the kids headed back to La Primavera we handed them their goodie bags filled with candy and toys and they also got some new sandals. To end the night, we had ice cream and played dice. What a blessed day! Enjoy the pictures below!

July Mission Trip - July 22, 2014

Day 6 was a success! Giving thanks to The Lord for all that was accomplished in His great name. Today we finished sealing the inside of the house, the cover for the pila (Maria's sink) was moved, the sidewalk inside the gate was laid, the windows were framed, and many other little odd ends completed. Also, yesterday, the outside wall was finished. On Monday, it was Rosalina's 26th birthday, so we baked her a cake and sang happy birthday to her. Missy also read Psalm 139:14 to Rosalina. God is so good! Looking forward to what God has in store for the remainder of our trip. Until then, here are some pics...

July Mission Trip - July 20,2014

Hola! Hard to believe we have already completed day four of our mission trip here in Villa Nueva. We have been working on Maria's house and visiting with SARF families. Today, Sunday June 20th, we met seven SARF families and they had their family photos taken by one of our team members. It was a blessing to see these families travel from their homes, all dressed up, to have their photos taken. We plan to take more family photos on Thursday. Tomorrow we will return to Maria's house and we are hopeful that great progress will be made towards completion.
